Emily Ellison

Attorney

Longmont Attorney Emily Ellison

Since starting my legal career, I have specialized in Family Law and am honored to have had the opportunity to help families navigate their Family Law matters. I’m passionate about Family Law because I can make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families when they are going through some of life’s most difficult transitions. I see divorce and these difficult life transitions as an opportunity for empowerment and growth.

From the initial consultation to final resolution, I listen to each client’s unique needs and goals and craft a strategy to achieve those goals. To empower my clients, I educate them on the law. I am honest and transparent with my clients about the law and how the facts of each case will likely be applied if the case goes to a contested hearing. This helps set realistic expectations from the start to minimize surprises later. My goal is to keep conflict low, so that there is minimal emotional and financial impact. However, when settlement is not possible, I have the experience, skills, and passion to advocate for my clients in Court.

It's a privilege to own and manage my own firm with a client-centered approach. My clients work directly with only me. There are no go-betweens, like legal assistants or paralegals. I manage all aspects of each case, including the number of cases I have at any given time, so that my clients receive my undivided attention and quick responses.

In addition to practicing law, I am passionate about serving the local legal community. I served as President of the Boulder County Bar Association (BCBA) for 2023-2024, an organization that consists of local attorneys and legal professionals who promote legal education and strong connections between attorneys, judges, and the community. I currently serve as the Ex-Officio Immediate Past-President of the Boulder County Bar Association. I have been a BCBA Board Member since 2019. In the past, I served on the board of a non-profit organization that provided safe services to families.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, biking, camping, travelling, and practicing meditation and yoga.
